Hi, thanks for stopping by and your comment. I wonder what makes you think that I personally went through it. I wrote fiction which I must say finds its roots from reality. Who said Nancy's mom has got anything against you? She probably did not like her own daughter becoming a happier and confident person because of you. Though Nancy's mom could not stop you two becoming close initially, she waited for her time to come in between you and your sister. She would have probably used loads of emotion and blunted Nancy's sense of reasoning. With such a mom, Nancy would spend all her life in constant pain. I am saying this because I have seen a close friend of mine suffer the same way. You need to somehow reach your sister and offer your help. She needs you now. |

I think you are not aware of the very many difficulties a girl child faces while growing up in a single parent home. It is not just the step father, but even her own mom could have been the cause of her problems. Most child abuse victims suffer lots because they cannot even tell anyone about the abuse. In Nancy's case, I am surprised that the abuse continued even after Nancy told her mom about the abuse. It is impossible for any mom to believe her husband, who is not the father of the girl and also a known womaniser. I think Nancy's mom let the abuse continue and did nothing to stop it. Nancy's mom also had discouraged Nancy from sharing the details regarding her birth with anyone. This had led to the Nancy's belief that she was a product of a mistake. It is also possible that Nancy's mom played a part in causing the split between you and your sister. Some women see their children as another face of their husbands and it is possible that Nancy's mom is taking such revenge on Nancy. |
